Connect Prompt Pie to Muse
Use Prompt Pie from Muse to find, read, save, update, and organize your cloud prompts and AI skills.
The Prompt Pie connector lets Muse work with the prompts and skills you keep in your Prompt Pie cloud library.
Connector preview
The Prompt Pie connector for Muse is being prepared for Muse review. Connection access is available to approved review and preview accounts while the listing is completed.
What you can do
With Prompt Pie connected, you can ask Muse to:
- List your Prompt Pie canvases
- Find a prompt or skill by its exact title
- Read the latest version or inspect revision history
- Save a new prompt or skill to a chosen canvas
- Update an existing item as a new revision
- Restore an earlier revision
- Delete an item after you approve the action
The connection status tells Muse which capabilities are active for your account during the preview.
What you need
- A verified Prompt Pie account
- Prompt Pie Pro
- At least one cloud pie
- Prompt Pie connector access for Muse during the preview
Local browser-only pies stay on your device and are outside the Muse connector.
Connect from Muse
When the Prompt Pie listing is available to your Muse account:
- Open Connectors in Muse.
- Choose Prompt Pie.
- Select Connect.
- Sign in to Prompt Pie.
- Review the permissions and approve the connection.
- Return to Muse and enable Prompt Pie for your conversation.
Muse will discover Prompt Pie's available tools automatically. The connection uses Prompt Pie's hosted MCP server at https://app.promptpie.dev/mcp.
Example requests
Try requests like:
- “Show me my Prompt Pie canvases.”
- “Find my prompt called ‘Weekly planning.’”
- “Read the latest version of my ‘Code review’ skill.”
- “Save this prompt to my ‘Work’ canvas as ‘Meeting follow-up.’”
- “Create a Prompt Pie skill called ‘Concise editor’ using these instructions.”
- “Update my ‘Launch checklist’ prompt with these changes.”
- “Show me the revision history for my ‘Launch checklist’ prompt.”
For a named canvas, Muse first finds the canvas and then performs the requested action inside it.
Permissions and confirmations
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Find and list | Muse sees titles, types, identifiers, revision metadata, and Prompt Pie links |
| Read | Muse receives the content of the specific prompt, skill, or revision you requested |
| Create | Muse saves a new prompt or skill in the canvas you selected |
| Update | Muse creates a new revision when the expected revision is still current |
| Restore | Muse creates a new current revision from an earlier revision |
| Delete | Muse soft-deletes the selected item after confirmation |
Revision checks prevent an older Muse conversation from overwriting newer work. If a document changed after Muse read it, Muse receives a conflict and should show you the newer state before trying again.
Open an item in Prompt Pie
Canvas and document results include a Prompt Pie link. Ask Muse to open or show an item when you want to continue editing it on the visual canvas.
Disconnect Muse
You can end the connection from either service:
- In Prompt Pie, open Settings → Connected Apps, find Muse, and select Revoke.
- In Muse, open the Prompt Pie connector settings and disconnect it.
Revoking the Prompt Pie grant stops Muse's next authenticated request.
Troubleshooting
Muse says the connector is unavailable
The connector is in review and preview access is released in stages. Confirm that the Prompt Pie account you connected has been approved for Muse access.
Muse cannot find a prompt or skill
Confirm that the item is stored in a cloud pie. Give Muse the complete title, or ask Muse to list prompts and skills before choosing one.
Muse can read but cannot save changes
Read and write capabilities can be enabled separately during preview. Ask Muse to check the Prompt Pie connection status. The status response will show whether write access is active for your account.
Muse says Prompt Pie Pro is required
Hosted connector access currently requires Prompt Pie Pro. Check Prompt Pie → Settings → Subscription.
